The association between AIDS and demodicidosis has been occasionally described elsewhere. We present a new case, in a patient with post-transfusional AIDS, who had many papules and pustules localized to the upper trunk and face, in relation to zidovudine treatment.

We record a case of an 18 year old female patient with a history of asymptomatic, keratotic, waxy papules localized over the thenar and hypothenar eminence of palms and the internal aspect of the soles of feet. Histologically they were characterized by hyperkeratosis, acanthosis, elastorrexis and enlarged collagen fibers, typical of the picture known as Costa's acrokeratoelastoidosis. We establish a differential diagnosis with other clinically similar keratotic conditions.
We record a case of systemic mastocytosis in a 70 year old male whose clinical picture started with abdominal symptomatology (pain and diarrhea) and syncopal episodes, who was found to have hepatosplenomegaly and skin, bone and bone-marrow involvement. Papulo-erythematous lesions appeared over the scar tissue of a previous colyscectomy. Scratching of these lesions produced urtication. Histologically an infiltration of mastocytes was found, being compatible with the diagnosis of systemic mastocytosis with Köebner's phenomenon. We review the most remarkable characteristics of systemic mastocytosis.
