[Scrotal contusions].

The author reports 8 cases of serious scrotal contusion, requiring urgent intervention with simple drainage castration or suture of the tunica albuginea. It is desirable to operate with in 6 hours in order to avoid ischaemic disorders of the testicle.

[Free total skin graft in loss of cutaneous substance of the hand. Apropos of 60 cases].

We report 60 cases of free total skin graft--taken from the corresponding forearm--in loss of cutaneous substances of the hand, following hand injury seen in the emergency room, or after removal of a massive skin tumor. The results were interesting.

[Disincarceration of a Küntscher nail].

Blockage of a Küntscher nail during nailing of a femoral diaphysis was relieved by a vertical osteotomy extending to upper end of nail identified through a trephine hole.

[Osteosynthesis with plate and screws of closed extra-articular fractures of the base of the first metacarpal bone. Apropos of 9 cases].

The authors report 9 cases of closed extra-articular fractures of the base of the first metacarpal. These fractures were treated by osteosynthesis by means of a small inverted T plate inserted via a postero-lateral approach with satisfactory results.

[Original treatment of luxation of Lisfranc's joint].

Emergency reduction and stabilization of a case of total external luxation of Lisfranc's joint with fracture of 3rd cuneiform was by partial internal arthrodesis using a 1/3 tube plate placed astride the tarso-metatarsal joint combined with plaster immobilization for 2 months. Recovery took 6 months.

[Spontaneous orchi-epididymitis due to necrosis of ischemic vascular origin].

The author reports the case of a patient presenting with a recurrent right hydrocele after tapping, associated with an infectious syndrome resulting in a swollen and painful right compartment of the scrotum, which failed to respond to antibiotic treatment. A right scrotal incision revealed a vaginal empyema and a swollen and enflamed testicle and epididymis. After a right ochiectomy, an anatomopathological examination showed a severe ischemia of the testicle and epididymis associated with arteriosclerotic stenosis of the testicular artery.

[Acute urine retention due to stenosis of the urethral meatus in the adult male].

This article reports a case of urethral meatal stenosis and acute urinary retention in an adult male with no previous urological case history. Intravenous pyelography showed a full bladder and dilatation of the urethra. An emergency meatotomy was required, and intermittent dilatation will no doubt be necessary.
