[Immature-cell leukoses in the adult age].

In form of a survey the author enters into selected questions of the etiopathogenesis, the pre-leucaemic phase, the epidemiology, the cytochemical subdivision, the clinic and therapy of undifferentiated cell leucaemia in adult age. The number of two-year sojourns in a hospital and other data are reported on the basis of an evaluation of the signature ledges of the clinical histories in the district Dresden. A study concerning the therapy carried out on 331 patients from six clinics of the GDR emphasizes the value of the polychemotherapy, in which cases according to the COAP- and ViDaP-scheme the results of the treatment are somewhat more unfavourable, compared with the results in the newest combinations of other authors.

[Studies on the mechanical resistance of human erythrocytes under in-vitro conditions].

Hemolysis and resistance of erythrocytes were studies in-vitro in experiments on human ACD fresh blood and on heparinized fresh blood after oxygen dispersion, resp. mixed oxygen and carbon dioxide dispersion, and subsequent treatment in the hemoresistometer. Blood alkalinity increases under oxygen dispersion, acidity increases under dispersion with mixed gases. The length of the period of dispersion is more important for hemolysis than the change of pH. The hematocrit value influences the behavior of blood resistance. High values imply enhanced hemolysis. There is no significant difference of actual hemolysis values between oxygen and oxygen/carbon dioxide dispersion. A different behavior appears in the calculation of difference value of hemolysis after treatment in resistometer and the respective actual hemolysis.

[Cytochemical data in chronic monocytic leukemia].

4 cases of chronic monocytic leukemia were observed during several years. In 2 patients there was a final appearance of blastic crisis. During the course of the disease the activity of the naphthylacetate-esterase in the monocytes increased, but the PAS-reaction was lowered. By the help of two cases for comparison - one patient suffering from a chronic myeloid leukemia and intermediate monocytic phase, the other one from a panmyelopathia and monocytic reaction - the morphological resemblance of these phenomena is demonstrated, which cytochemically cannot be separated.
