[Estimate of coronary blood flow by simple fixation measurement of 86Rb on the cardiac muscle (author's transl)].

The method for measuring coronary blood flow, which is described here, is based on the estimate, by external detection, of the quantity of 86Rb fastened on the cardiac muscle about ten minutes after the injection. The discussion which follows after this report, shows that the use of such a late time for the measurements does not contradict the fondamental hypothesis but allows to work in perfect technical conditions. The results obtained, widely superposable to those which have been published until to-day, prove a posteriori the availability of the method.

[Rupture of the heart in the acute phase of myocardial infarct. Anatomic-macroscopic study].

The data of the macroscopical-anatomical examination of 14 cases of cardiac rupture (10 women, 4 men) complicating acute myocardial infarction were compared with those obtained at autopsy, with the same protocol, in 31 cases of myocardial infarction which resulted in death before the 30th day after the onset. Many anatomical facts separated both groups from each other (size, aspect, limits of myocardial necrosis, state of the coronary arteries). Eventual surgical conclusions might be drawn from this study.

Familial occurrence of monoclonal gammapathies.

The purpose of this work was to evaluate the genetic propensity importance in the monoclonal gammapathies occurrence. Systematic serum-electrophoreses were performed on 172 relatives of 37 reported patients and on 10,784 controls over 30. The 4 families including one or more "paraproteinemia" other than the proband's were investigated. Experimental, epidemiologic, immunologic and genetic arguments are discussed.

[Error introduced in the radiocardiographic measurement of right volume by the non linearity of the detector in high count rates (author's transl)].

The short life tracers permit the use of high activities and so allow to follow with a good statistic accuracy fast phenomenons such as the different phases of cardiac revolution. However, this advantage may be quickly limited by the dead-time of the detection unit used. It results from this, in high activities, a non linear response which introduces non negligible errors which we have calculated and verifies thanks to experience in the measurement of right ventricular volumes.

Cardiac Catheterization↗

[HLA in psoriasis, population and family studies (author's transl)].

We have detected B13 and BW17, respectively 6 and 20 times, in a dample of 51 psoriasis, versus, respectively 2 and 12 times in a sample of 140 control subjects. Two informative families have been investigated. In the first one, marker transmission and illness heredity were correlated, whereas, in the second one, both were dissociated. These observations allow to consider every physio-pathologic hypothesis linking HLA system and psoriasis vulgaris.

[Interest of the dosage of serum ferritin in hemodialyzed patients (author's transl)].

The ferrous stock evaluation can be done to-day in a repetitive manner through the serum ferritin radio-assay. In 33 hemodialyzed patients, the ferrous lack is frequent and was found with a rate of 62%. It is profound in four cases and concealed in 17 cases. The serum ferritin has no correlation with the ordinary hematologic and biologic parameters. Its value stays in the Ag HBs positive patient. The oral ferrous treatment to the patient with a low ferritin rate (less than 30 ng/ml) induces a ferritin and a hemoglobin rate increased, so confirming the therapeutic efficacy when done with a rational prescription.

[Evolution of motor nerve conduction and Hoffmann reflex in 100 patients with chronic renal failure treated by periodic hemodialysis (author's transl)].

The study of motor nerve conduction (MNC) and H. reflex was carried out on 100 chronic uraemic patients, fifty-four males and fourty-six females, treated by periodic hemodialysis. The MNCV is more frequently normal in females than in males. Periodic hemodialysis improves MNCV but sometimes uraemic neuropathy appears with hemodialysis. The MNCV is oftener improved than H. reflex latency. Results are neither significantly improved by a greater number of hemodialysis seances nor in function of the different dialyzers. Any kidney activity does not modify the nerve conduction.

[The bony scan at 99m Tc pyrophosphate in the chronic kidney deficiency treated by hemodialysis (author's transl)].

The bony scan at 99m Tc pyrophosphate of thirty chronic hemodialyzed patients have been classified in four groups of increasing fixation according to Olgaard's criterions. The clinical, radiological symptoms of renal osteodystrophy the alkalin phosphatases and the PTHi rate have been compared. Twenty-six scans show a noticeable fixation (stage II) or an important one (stage III--eleven patients). The third stage patients have more important radiographical symptoms, a more important rate of alkalin phosphatases and PTHi rate than those of the second stage. According to our observations and those of literature, the scan at 99m Tc PP allow an early and faithful diagnosis of renal osteodystrophy. It seems to represent the increase of the osteoid immature tissue, which is the usual characteristic of the renal osteodystrophy.
