The authors report 10 cases of multifocal glioma of the brain. There are distinguished in multicentric tumors, when lesions develop independently in the space and time and multiples tumors when they are in connection by spreading process. They analyzed the factors that could permit to distinguish these gliomas. Multicentric tumors are histologically of low grade with gradual evolution, and from different histological nature and topography. In other hand, multiple gliomas are from malignant histology and develop simultaneously. The CT scan and biopsy in stereotaxic condition could permit to recognize these two parts which the prognosis is different.

In a 52 years old man a backward epilepsy revealed a left fronto parietal tumor. The histopathological study shows that it is a meningial tumor composed around by meningocytic proliferation with a metastasis of lung cancer in the middle. This fact was proved only two months after neurosurgical intervention. Thirty three cases of cancer with metastasis in an intracranial primitive tumor have been collected in the literature. The authors study the clinical aspects and etiopathogenic hypothesis of this surprising anatomopathological fact.

The "rigid spine syndrome" is a rare form of myopathy characterised by rigidity of the dorso-lumbar spine, hyperextension of the neck and muscular retraction limiting mobility, especially of the upper limbs with elbows fixed in semi-flexion. This condition, which was first described relatively recently, has been little studied: only 8 cases have been published to this day. We report the case of a 20 year old man with this syndrome, associated with a severe diffuse non-obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Electronic microscopy and histoenzymological studies were performed on the skeletal muscle. They confirmed myopathic changes, demonstrating a great variation in diameter of the fibres, but there was no evidence of a predominating histoenzymological form (type I muscular atrophy) as previously reported. Although there have been no other reports of cardiac involvement in the "rigid spine syndrome", a link between the two conditions would seem to be likely.

Histological and ultrastructural studies have been undertaken on a perineal rhabdomyosarcoma from a newborn child. The spontaneous tumour has the typical feature of mesenchymoma. The recurrent tumour, however, displays some rhabdopoietic characteristics. The myosin of the recurrent tumour has been extracted and compared with human fetal myosin. These two myosins are identical in their synthetic filaments and their light-chain composition. Nevertheless, whereas the ATPase activity of fetal myosin can be stimulated considerably by increasing the ca2+ concentration, that of tumoral myosin remains very low. These results show that there are isoenzymes of myosins and there must be differences in the myosin heavy chains, particularly in the active sites. These findings are identical with those seen in experimental rhabdomyosarcoma.

On 200 Wistar white rats the authors experiment the effects of an original solution administered by the mouth on the evolution of a chronic gastric ulcer experimentally induced. This solution tuning for the prevention or the treatment of the stress ulcer seems to aggravate the chronic ulcers in the way of formation but on the contrary accelerates in a way highly significant the cicatrization of constituted chronic ulcers. The local and general effects of different components of this solution produce these double actions and do not contraindicate its clinic utilisation.
