[Finger transplant in the creation and reconstruction of the penis (commentary by R. T. Adamian)].
An original method of total phalloplasty based on transplantation of various vascularized tissues complexes is presented. A finger transplant is effective for creation and reconstruction of the penis. The finger complex may be used successfully in combination with either radial or thoracodorsal flap. The main advantages of the method are the following: one-stade surgery, possibility of inclusion into the transplant necessary volume of tissues, high level of recovery of sensitivity of the transplanted complex, good rigidity function and esthetic result, minimum hospital stay. This method permits maximal recovery of biomechanical functions of this organ.
