[Synchronous mechanical heart massage during assisted circulation].

In tests on dogs specially devised cardiac massage appliances and a monitoring system synchronizing the mechanical massage with the R wave on the ECG were used in carrying out a synchronous mechanical chest massage in conditions of an experimentally induced incompetence of the cardiac ventricles. Optimal parameters of the hemodynamics were recorded with the massage proceeding in such a manner, when mechanical action on the cardiac ventricles coincided with termination of the maximum pressure period of the myocardium. The synchronous ancillary cardiac massage effected under conditions of ventricular incompetence was found to be attended by a rise of cardiac output and increased aortic pressure, falling tension in the auricles and normalization of the acid-base equilibrium figures. Synchronization of the massaging appliance operation with cardiac contractions is an effective method of assisted circulation in acute incompetence of the heart valves.

[Study of the efficacy of assisted circulation control by mathematical and physical modeling methods].

The efficiency of the assisted circulation control has been studied by mathematical and physical simulation. It has been assessed by simulating a transient process within the circulation system that imitated the left ventricular failure. The control system for regulation of the assisted circulation process based on the mathematical models is shown to be capable of maintaining the main hemodynamic parameters and the left ventricular relief at the present level in heart failure.

Assisted Circulation↗

[The sinus VK experimental apparatus for assisted circulation].

Presented in the paper is the unit for cardiosynchronized extra- and intracorporal control in the course of the intensive therapy of patients with acute cardiac failure. It provides several methods of the assisted circulation and can be used in clinical cardiology, surgery and reanimation departments. Main specifications, the structure and the principle of functioning are given. The prototype testing has shown that "CHHyc B K" can be used to advantage in clinical practice and should be introduced for the full - scale production.

Assisted Circulation↗

[Artificial heart control system].

To develop a system for the artificial heart control the algorhythm of the latter, with the blood pressure in the aorta acting as a regulation parameter, was analyzed on its mathematical model. The results of the algorhythm operation in three model situation describing transitional processes under physical efforts, stress and resuscitation are reported. The technical implemetation of the described algorhythm is set forth and a comparison of the obtained experimental data versus the design curves is made.

[Control system for the Sinus artificial heart].

The control system, type "Sinus", for an artificial heart is proposed. The use of servomechanisms in this system allows one to obtain pressure pneumopulses of any required form. The form of pneumopulses can be determined either by an external source, e. g. and analog computer, or by a built-in generator forming an electric control signal having one of three possible forms. The structural diagram of the type "Sinus" system and its brief technical specifications are given.
