Arthroscopy language.

The authors have devised an "arthroscopy language" to make orthopaedic surgeons' intraoperative communication clear, comprehensive, and concise. This language specifically eliminates surgeons' "freestyle" conversation at the most crucial moments of their procedure, when concentration and the coordinated work of two surgeons are essential. The language uses current arthroscopic terminology and new words that have been adapted by the authors to describe all the basic maneuvers that are used during any arthroscopic procedure. The authors believe the language brings the necessary scientific sophistication into arthroscopic surgeons' speech in the operating theater.

Torsional tibia vara.

Infantile tibial torsion and tibia vara are common childhood deformities with controversial methods of measurement and treatment. The authors believe that the two deformities are different manifestations of the same entity for which the term "torsional tibia vara" is adopted. A practical method of measurement and a decisive method of conservative treatment are presented for this disorder. The concept as well as the methods of measurement and treatment have been successfully practiced by the senior author (H.Z.) for the past 20 years.

Minor articular fractures of the knee: an update.

Early management of minor articular fractures of the knee results in the best possible prognosis with the least period of disability. The authors stress the need for early arthroscopic examination when history, physical examination and x-ray suggest possibility of minor intra-articular fracture.
