Several physiopathological hypothesis may explain the frequent transmission of malaria from a pregnant woman to the foetus, and its obstetrical consequences. Because of immunological reasons, such a transmission is most often silent, but some severe forms of congenital malaria do exist and they justify the chemoprophylaxy for pregnant women, and the treatment of any presumptive attack of malaria during pregnancy.
This survey was carried out on 35 cases of malaria, having occurred during a period of 4 months in a population of expatriates living in a zone III of chloroquino-resistance. So, the authors can recall actual frequency of non-typical forms of this endemia. They underline the sensitivity of orange acridine test and its interest in the biological diagnosis of the forms offering a low parasitemia. The survey demonstrates once again the limits of the recommended chemoprophylaxis and the remarkable efficiency of halofantrine, while suspecting a possible coming up of a resistance.
Tuberculosis of the skin is not exceptional in Africa South of the Sahara. The different ways of contamination of the skin by the tubercular bacillus and the level of immunologic reaction of the host account for the clinical polymorphisms. The bacillus is detected with difficulty, and the classical anatomo-pathological feature of tuberculoid granuloma is rarely complete: A classification based on physiopathological, clinical, bacteriological and histological criteria is an help to diagnosis.

Different aetiological factors of Burkitt's disease, or Burkitt's lymphoma (BL) are considered in an analytical, then synthetical point of view, according to present admitted facts. Epidemiologic data are recalled in order to assign a place to the disease. Relations with Epstein-Barr virus (E.B.V.) are well-known by comparative pathology (connections between animal tumors and herpetic virus), virologic and serologic studies; the role of E.B.V. is based on the presence of viral genomas and nuclear antigens in tumoral cells of B.L.; there are B.L. without E.B.V., but constantly improved study of anti-E.B.V. antibodies, and viral markers, will may be decrease their number. Connections with malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum are recognized. Discovery of chromosomal aberrations is a new important stage. At the present time, it is generally guessed that: a) the initiation of malignant process might be induced by E.B.V. b) an external agent might cause the promotion of cellular division. c) chromosomal abnormality might be responsible for the malignant transformation.

Two new cases of sarcoidosis are reported from Cameroon. The first one concerned a man, 53 years old, who presented multiple dermal nodules of the face, polyadenopathy , splenomegaly, exertional dyspnea, reticular and micronodular aspect of lungs X-ray. Diagnosis was confirmed by histology of skin, ganglions and bronchus biopsies. Patient was treated by corticotherapy. The other one concerned a woman, 28 years old, who presented successively mediastinal adenopathies, then, 9 months later, reticular and micronodular aspect of lungs X-ray. During this period, a treatment against tuberculosis had been established. Bronchus biopsies confirmed the diagnosis. The patient was also treated by corticosteroids. The authors wonder whether sarcoidosis is actually or apparently rare in Negro-Africans, owing to the fact of frequent failure to recognize this affection, or confusion with tuberculosis. Correct incidence of sarcoidosis in Negro-Africans should be defined.
