Late results of the bladder-flap method Boari--Mezö fulfilled expectations only in the correction of ureteral lesions of gynaecological origin. With appropriate technique even 5 to 10 cm long sections of the ureter can be replaced and in one-third of the cases the late results, too, are good. The authors are convinced that Boari plasty is not an anti-reflux operation and the results are poor in cases of specific ureteral stricture. The operation is recommended for the correction of congenital malformations, fibrous periureteritis and strictures after nephrolithotomy when the strictures are long and simple ureteral neoimplantation is technically impossible.

The uroflowmetry is an essential part of the complex urodynamic examinations. One of its advantages is the non-invasive behaviour; the patient does not suffer any inconveniences. It is suitable for the evaluation of the success in surgical interventions due to obstructions in the lower urinary tracts, for control of results of the medicamentous therapy or after operative procedures, which have as their purpose the improvement of the function of the detrusor and for the general differentiation of diseases which are accompanied by dysuric symptoms. The technique renders possible the registration, the preservation of date and means an unlimited repeatable methody.

A simple uroflowmeter has been constructed which, according to the experience gathered so far, can be used satisfactorily for the urodynamic examination of the lower urinary tract.
Experience with surgical and combined treatment of bladder tumours are reported. 587 patients were subjected to operation only, 71 received complex therapy. The patients were classified according to the TNM system, assessment of the results was based on five-year survival. In the group in which the tumour involved only the mucous membrane and did not infiltrate the bladder wall, the results were favourable (85%), while in the group when the bladder wall was deeply infiltrated, there was no five-year survival irrespective of the treatment having been purely surgical or surgical combined with cytostatic or X-ray therapy.
