[Influence of bioactive dietary supplement--dietary unsaturated fats--on immune status of patients with myocardial ischemia and impaired glucose tolerance].

Immune status measured by the flow cytrometric analysis under the ischemic heart disease and IHD with impaired glucose tolerance has been found to be altered in B cells as well as in T lymphocytes in some cases. Having received the diet supplemented by PUFA "Eicolen", IHD patients present with the restored immune status. Patients with IHD and impaired glucose tolerance did not present with any significant modifications in immune status after PUFA "Eicolen" supplementation.

[Correction of mineral metabolism impairment with an allowance for seasonal fluctuations in patients with ischemic heart disease and hypertensive disease with overweight].

The influence of antiaterosclerotic diet with including some biologically active supplements (BAS), containing Zn, Mg, Na, K, Ca, vit C, E, B2, B6, beta-carotene, I was studied in 164 patients with ischemic heart disease and hypertension disease. BAS has been use with an allowance for seasonal fluctuations of microelements sufficiency. The usage of BAS "Lifepack" has priority in spring. The usage of biologically active supplements during 4 weeks in spring has promoted positive changes of clinical symptoms of diseases against a background of lowering increasing of K, Ca, Mg, Cu, Zn.

[Clinical-metabolic evaluation of the effectiveness of the olive oil use in patients with cardiovascular diseases].

Investigation of influence of diet with olive oil on clinical, metabolic and immune indices in patients with ischemic heart disease and hypertension was conducted. As a result of the diet modified by the lipid component positive effect on the course of the diseases and lipid spectrum of blood, pronounced action on some indices of cell immunity, intensity of processes of lipid peroxidation were observed.

[Dietetic canned food using ocean fish and plant components].

The results of the creating canned ground goods of a new kind are described in this article. The main character references of food value of hake and the canned ground foods based on it. It has been established that the new products of safety. Clinical tests have been showed the efficiency of including these canned goods in the menu of fat patients, also with heavy obesity. Dietetic canned ground foods on the base of oceanic fishes with plant additives.

[Juices in therapeutic-prophylactic nutrition].

The main aspects of using juices with therapeutic and prophylactic purposes are demonstrated. Multifactorial influence of vegetable and fruit juices on the organism, primarily depends on their chemical composition. The necessity of their differentiated use basing not only nosological unity, but also on the degree of functional and metabolic disorders taking place in certain pathology is emphasized. Different juices are characterized in respect to the effect on different functional systems of the body. The new line in research is the ability of juices to change pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of medicines given with juices. The importance of juices as a necessary element of therapeutic and healthy nutrition in case of their using in adequate amounts is emphasized.

[Effects of antiatherosclerosis diet including soy protein on the dynamics of clinical, biochemical and immunologic indicators in patients with ischemic heart disease and hypertension].

Investigation of influence of diet with soy-protein on clinical and immune indices in patients with ischemic heart disease and hypertension was conducted. As a result of the diet modified by the protein component positive effect on the course of the diseases and lipid spectrum of blood, pronounced action on some indices of humoral immunity, intensity of processes of lipid peroxidation were observed.

[The effect of vitamin- and beta-carotene-enriched products on the vitamin A allowance and the concentration of different carotenoids of the blood serum in victims of the accident at the Chernobyl Atomic Electric Power Station].

The results of clinical trials of efficiency of foods enriched by vitamins and beta-carotene in people suffered from Chernobyl's accident are presented. The level of beta-carotene in clinical diets was the same during trial. Daily consumption of enriched food supplying ingestion of 4-5 mg of beta-carotene increased the level of beta-carotene in serum by 2-4 times. The concentration of total carotenoides in serum was increased by 1.6 times practically at the expense of beta-carotene.

[Effects of diet containing polyunsaturated fatty acids omega-3 and different doses of vitamin E on the activity of lipid peroxidation in patients with hypertension].

Change in lipid peroxidation processes (POL) have been studied in 32 patient with II degree hypertension disease after treatment by diet containing 20 g fish oil (eiconol) and 12.5 or 125 mg of vitamin E. The treatment with diet containing high level of PUFA did not cause increasing activity of POL. The treatment with diet AIM-125 containing high amount of vitamin E had not significant positive effect on clinical symptoms of hypertension and had no advantages in comparison with diet AIM-12.5 which ratio vitamin E:PUFA omega-3 was 2.5 mg:1mg.

[Characteristics of water-electrolyte balance in patients with labile essential hypertension and various approaches to the optimal therapy with diuretics and low-sodium diet].

A study of 56 males, aged 22 to 56 years, with uncomplicated essential hypertension, stages IB-IIA, where pretreatment examination was followed by repeat investigation after 4 or 5 weeks of treatment with diuretics or low-sodium diets with strict (less than 2 g), moderate (up to 3 g), or mild (4-4.5 g) restriction of sodium uptake, demonstrated a tendency to sodium retention with fluid redistribution from the interstitium to intravascular space in the presence of diuretic treatment. Where dietary sodium was reduced, extracellular sodium was increased owing to increased residual sodium, while total metabolic sodium dropped, and extracellular fluid increased owing to the increase in interstitial fluid. All three variants of the low-sodium diet produced changes in sodium metabolism, with a drop in systemic residual sodium and arterial blood pressure. It is proposed to use strict limitation of dietary sodium for a limited period of time, to be followed by a transition to mildly limited sodium uptake after arterial BP is brought down and stabilized.

[Nutrition factor in the treatment and prevention of ischemic heart disease under ambulatory care].

Study of the influence of a long-term staged use of diet therapy during prophylactic medical observation of post-myocardial infarction patients has shown that the anti-sclerosis diet used under clinical conditions was effective for relieving the angina pectoris syndrome and obtaining favourable dynamic changes in a number of metabolic parameters. Among the out-patients the diet was used by only 76 per cent. A comparative study of the results of diet therapy during the 3-year medical observation has shown a clear tendency to a gradual reduction of hyperlipoproteinemia and excessive body weight in patients who adhered to the diet. The parameters under study in the group of patients who violated the diet returned to the original level. The incidence of recurrent myocardial infarctions in patients on a diet was twice as low as in those who violated it. Prolonged diet therapy considerably improved parameters of IHD patients' working capacity. A special model has been elaborated for adequate use of the nutritional factor at all stages of the rehabilitation program.
