A comparative study between direct testicular and pedal lymphography in dogs. (A preliminary report).

In 20 dogs, 12 bilateral and 8 unilateral pedal and direct testicular lymphographies were performed. Comparison between the two methods showed that pedal lymphography failed to visualize some of the regional lymph nodes of the testicle. Histological examinations of the excised testicles two months after the injection of the contrast material failed to show any significant abnormalities. The potential applications of direct testicular lymphography are discussed.

Transcatheter arterial embolization in the management of tumours of the urinary tract.

The technique of transcatheter arterial embolization in the management of malignant tumours of the urinary tract and in particular of the kidneys and bladder is described. The results in a series of 10 patients (9 with hypernephroma and 1 with a carcinoma of the bladder) are analyzed and the advantages as well as the dangers of this method in the management of operable and nonoperable tumours of the kidneys are discussed.

The use of computed tomography in the assessment of cardiac masses.

Computed tomography has been found to be a useful tool in the evaluation of cardiac masses. It can be most effacious in the detection of a lesion and in the delineation of its size and location, as well as the demonstration of its relationships to intra- and extracardiac structures. It can be especially useful in areas of the heart where echocardiography can be difficult. This is particularly true for the left atrium, where lesions such as small thrombi can be missed.

CT characterization of multivesicular hydatid cysts.

One hundred seventy-eight abdominal multivesicular hydatid cysts were classified into three types (A, B, C) based on CT densities and morphology of cysts. The CT density of viable daughter cysts was always appreciably lower than those of mother hydatid cysts. This density differential between mother and daughter hydatid cyst fluid is a useful diagnostic sign.
