Sacral hydatid cysts: an uncommon cause of neurogenic bladder.

Hydatid cysts of the sacrum are rare entities, characterized by chronicity without any clinical manifestation and are usually misdiagnosed in the early stage resulting in significant loss of bone and destruction of surrounding tissue. One should keep this possibility in mind in cases of early sphincteric involvement with minimal sensorimotor deficit in the lower limbs and bone destruction on radiography.

Adrenal lipoma. A case report.

Lipoma of the adrenal gland is an extremely uncommon tumor detected incidentally at postmortem or during life when the patient undergoes investigations for other reasons. All tumors reported in the literature were very small in size. We report a case of lipoma of the adrenal gland in a 45-year-old male patient who was hypertensive and presented with pain in the abdomen. The symptomatic presentation, large size, laparoscopic removal and rarity of this tumor merit documentation in the literature.

Diagnosis and management of duodenal obstruction due to renal cell carcinoma.

Two cases of duodenal obstruction secondary to renal cell carcinoma are described. One case had delayed metastasis to duodenum four years after right radical nephrectomy and the second case had a large right renal cell carcinoma with duodenal involvement. The possibility of duodenal involvement or metastasis should be kept in mind in any patient presenting with upper gastrointestinal obstructive symptoms and with right sided renal tumour or radical nephrectomy in the past. Whenever suspected, radiography and if required endoscopic assessment should be supplemented to diagnose this condition. Extensive local disease or presence of concurrent metastasis usually rules out the possibility of cure. We describe the clinico-radiological features of this condition along with a review of the literature.
