Management of nevus spilus.

Nevus spilus is clinically defined as a pigmented skin lesion composed of a light brown macule on which darker, circumscribed macular or papular lesions appear at a later stage. Histologically, nevus cells have been found both in pigmented spots and in the background stain. Cases of transformation into melanoma have been reported in the literature and the excision of these lesions is therefore justified. We discuss surgical techniques used in seven patients with nevus spilus and define their indications with respect to the characteristics of the lesion.

[Secretan's disease (author's transl)].

Five cases are presented of hard, brawny, edema of the dorsum of the hand. Surgical interventions was doing in two cases, but the results were poor with persistent pain. We now believe splinting and active exercise to be the initial treatment of choice. Secretan's disease produces a quite extensive disability of the hand which lasted more than 6 months, often for years.

[Post-traumatic liponecrosis. Apropos of a clinical case].

Localized post-trauma liponecrosis, also called lipoatrophy, is a benign disease with no functional consequences but does cause important aesthetic problems. Diagnosis is often missed. Necrosis of the adipocytes occurs after direct trauma and absorption of the haematoma. It is important to search for favouring factors and order the necessary examinations. The therapeutic strategy is presented.

The 50-year clinical course of a case of osteomyelitis of the left tibia is reported. Surgical specimens were positive for Klebsiella pneumoniae allowing treatment with certriaxone and ciprofloxacine. After antibiotic therapy, regional skin expansion was possible with excision and simultaneous closure of a wide area of damaged skin resulting from the long-term infection.
