[Rare abnormalities of the circle of Willis: infra-optic pathway of the anterior cerebral arteries (author's transl)].

The authors report a new case of "sub optic" course of anterior cerebral arteries with an anterior communicating artery aneurysm controlled at surgery. The patient had also a distal Moya Moya, a median artery of the corpus callosum and an aortic coarctation. He underwent a first operation for cerebral aneurysm and in a second step another for aortic malformation. The authors discuss the anomaly by the way of Lasjaunia's embryologic scheme of ophthalmic arteries formation.

[Lymphocyte subpopulations in non-Hodgkin's lymphoma during cytostatic therapy].

1. In non-Hodgkin-lymphomas with leucaemic form of the course a significant percental decrease of the number of T-lymphocytes and an also significant increase of the number of B-lymphocytes was to be proved. The increase of the B-lymphocytes concerned among others cells which carry the ME-receptor. 2. In non-Hodgkin-lymphomas with aleucaemic form of the course in decrease of the absolute number of lymphocytes a relative and absolute increase of the subpopulation of lymphocytes carrying the ME-receptor was provable. 3. In the course control of 7 patients with non-Hodgkin-lymphoma under polychemotherapy in 5 cases a discrepancy between the number of rosette-forming cells and the total number of lymphocytes appeared. 4. In the monotherapy of patients with CLL in favourable clinical development a percental increase of the T-cells is objectifiable after one year. A similar development was to be found in 3 patients after the first cycle with CVP.

[Hydrocyanic acid content in cerals and cereal products].

In the above paper for the first time a systematic study of the amount of hydrocyanic acid in grains and cereal products is reported. Among 24 analysed wheat, rye, maize and oats types, the presence of hydrocyanic acid could be identified in 19 cases in their Karyopses. Similar is the result with 28 among 31 analysed cereal products. The content of hydrocyanic acid lies between 0.1 and 45 microgram/100 gr dried mass.

[Diagnosis of tumors of the parotid gland by sialography and saialoscintigraphy. A comparative study on 49 patients (author's transl)].

169 patients with different diseases of the salivary glands were examined by means of sialography and sialoscintigraphy. The results of these examinations were analysed by a blindfold test. The sialographic diagnosis was correct for 47 of 49 tumors checked by histologic examinations. There is no specific criterium for the scintigraphic determiation of a tumor; there are concentrations as well as filling defects and retentions. The correct side, however, was found by scintigraphy in 46 cases. Only if a Warthin's tumor is suspected, the diagnosis can be confirmed by scintigraphy if a concentration is found. Generally, sialoscintigraphy should only be executed if sialography has technically failed. A distinction by means of sialography of benign and malignant tumors is not possible.

[Value of lymphography in teratoid testicular tumors (author's transl)].

In 72 patients with malignant testicular tumors lymphograms were reviewed and correlated with the microscopic findings of the resected lymphnodes. In 55 patients (76%) the roentgenographic diagnosis was confirmed by histology. In 6 patients lymphography was false positive as microscopic examination of the resected lymphnodes showed. In 4 patients lymphography was considered negative but metastatic disease proven microscopically from retroperitoneal lymphnodes. Out of 7 patients with questionable positive lymphograms 2 had retroperitoneal metastases confirmed by microscopic examination. The limits, errors and value of lymphography in patients with testicular tumors are discussed.

[Diverse findings in cranial CT and scintigraphy in space occupying lesions (author's transl)].

Incongruent statements in CT and scintigraphy may disturb therapy planning. Many years of scintigraphy have presented here an established method. Cranial CT was performed here with 2000 persons in one year. Parallel CT and scintigraphy was performed in about 350 cases. There were some cases with positive findings in CT and negative in scintigraphy and vice versa. These cases will be compared with the definite diagnosis, we will discuss the different findings and the relevance of both methods as a diagnostic aid for the neurosurgeon and therapeutic radiologist.

The diagnostic value of sialography and scintigraphy in salivary gland diseases.

The diagnostic value of sialographic and scintigraphic investigations was compared in 169 patients. In this group were 75 inflammatory diseases and 49 benign and malignant tumours. Sialograms and scintigrams were examined by different physicians who had no knowledge of the clinical data of the patients. The scintigraphic diagnosis was considered correct if any abnormal finding was noted. The sialographic diagnosis was considered correct if the actual disease was diagnosed. In spite of the less stringent requirements for a correct scintigraphic diagnosis the sialographic technique was found to be superior. Radioactivity uptake curves over the salivary glands did not improve the scintigraphic diagnostic accuracy.
