[Diagnosis of myocardial infarction complicated by complete block of the left branch of His bundle as shown by computed electrocardiotopography].

AIM: To assess efficacy of computed electrocardiotopography (CECT) in diagnosis of myocardial infarction (MI) complicated by a complete block of His' bundle left branch (HBLB). MATERIAL AND METHODS: Twenty two patients with a complete block of HBLB have undergone CECT (hardware Rhythm-M, software "Rhythm" and "Heart"). RESULTS: Five patients had no scars. The rest 17 patients had MI. The diagnosis of MI was definite by ECG in 6 (35%) patients. In 11 (65%) patients MI diagnosis by ECG was doubtful. Only CECT detected typical for MI changes in the QRS changes. CONCLUSION: CECT can significantly detect scars in the myocardium in a complete block of HBLB and improves diagnostic potential of ECG.

[New developments in the problem of animal and human paragonimiasis].

A possibility of participation of reservoir hosts (mammals) in the biological cycle of trematodes of the genus Paragonimus, which has recently been experimentally proved, is discussed. A man can become infected with paragonimiasis not only through raw crawfishes and crabs but also through unboiled meat of some mammals. The authors found out that man can serve as a reservoir host of these trematodes too. The larval (muscular) form of paragonimiasis discovered by the authors was already recorded from over 100 patients. New species and subspecies of Paragonimus and their certain characters are reported.

[An immunoenzyme test system for the diagnosis of human larval paragonimiasis].

Human larval paragonimiasis, a special form, was identified in the Maritime Territory. A procedure for enzyme immunoassay was developed to diagnose this form of the disease, which showed 97% sensitivity and 92% specificity. The method has been employed in seroepidemiological screening of 2000 people in the Ussuri region. The presence of antibodies to Paragonimus antigens has been confirmed by RIHA and CFT for 26 out of 72 seropositive cases.
