[Similar skin lesions in victim and perpetrator caused by a knife with a serrated blade].

Reported in this paper is an attack of two adolescents on a man who was killed in the fight, with several kitchen knives being used, including two with grooved and wave-grooved blades. One of the offenders held the victim tight from behind and was injured by his attacking accomplice++. A grid mark on the left side of the victim's face and the left forearm of the second offender in the back supported the assumption of a knife with simple wave profile. Skin lesions of finer structure below the left ear and on the left forearm of the victim suggested involvement of a smaller kitchen knife with groove-milled wave profile. Offender-victim position and course of offence were verified and confirmed by evaluation of these specific findings.

[An unusual autoerotic accident: sexual pleasure from peritoneal pain].

The paper describes a fatal autoerotic accident of a 23-year-old man who derived sexual pleasure from painful irritation of the peritoneum by sharp force. For this purpose he clamped two knife blades into a vice suspended from a rope-pulley construction so that he could lower it to pierce the abdominal skin with the tips of the knives. When one of the ropes broke, the vice with the knives fell onto the man's belly piercing the inferior vena cava and leading to death by exsanguination. This, to the authors' knowledge, has been the first ever report of a fatal autoerotic accident in which sexual pleasure was to be obtained from painful irritation of the peritoneum.

[Group-specific component imaging from trace material using isoelectric focussing and electroblotting].

GC-subtyping was carried out on blood stains, that had been made on glass and stored under room temperature-conditions. Using isoelectric focusing in polyacrylamide gel, followed by transfer to nitrocellulose membrane by semi-dry-electroblotting and detection with enzyme-linked antibody complex the GC-detection was possible even after 64 days. Methodical problems are discussed.

[Murder of children by children and adolescents--a rare crime].

Nine case reports obtained from the autopsy material of three German institutes of forensic medicine are presented to illustrate the rare offense "killing of a child by a child" and compared with data from the criminal statistics of the police. In addition, age-specific peculiarities, including adolescence, are also discussed.

[Fatal exorcism. A case report].

A five-year-old girl was killed by her mother when she tried to pull the devil out of the girl's mouth by means of her hands. In that way the enlarged tonsils were pushed back and caused together with the woman's fingers a temporary closure of the hypopharynx and at least the suffocation of the child. About two years ago the woman began to show paranoic ideas exacerbating up to the fatal event.
