The first one is a neurofibroma associated with a Charcot-Marie Tooth's disease involving all the tympanic segment of the facial nerve: extirpation and graft. Improvement of facial motricity to 42%. The second one is a small Schwannoma lateral to tympanic segment: extirpation without paralysis. The third is a large Schawannoma of the tympanic mastoïd segments involving the facial nerve to its division in the parotid gland, and with a limited extension in the cerebello-pontine angle. Extirpation and graft. Discussion and recent bibliography.

Pregnant guinea pigs were treated with Kanamycin at three different stages of gestation (dating by method of post-partum ovulation). Twenty-nine newborn guinea pigs were tested electrophysiologically by recording the cochlear microphonic potential and the compound action potential from the round window in response to clicks and filtered clicks at 8,000 Hz. Six of the test animals showed the same electrophysiological changes as those found in adult mammals after Kanamycin intoxication. The results suggest a relationship between the ototoxicity of Kanamycin and the onset of auditory function. Cochlear potential and compound action potential were mostly affected when intoxication was performed during the last 15 days of gestation. This study confirms the results previously published by Uziel 1979.

The design of a new parallel plate perfusion chamber for cell behavior studies involving pulsatile flowrates is presented. It was based on fluid mechanical considerations to ensure a region of regular and uniform shear stress at the wall. A numeric solution of the flow was performed to study the effect of pulsating flow on the entrance length. Dye injection investigations in the chamber showed laminar and uniform flow in the culture region under steady state conditions.
