[Pathomorphological studies of the testes in various forms of hypogonadism in young men].

The authors studied 32 biopsies of testes of patients, aged 18 to 26 with various forms of male hypogonadism: Klinefelter's syndrome--16, primary hypotrophy pogonadism with other known and unknown etiology--6, cryptorchism--1, secondary hypogonadism--4, later puberty--3. The materials were studied by the standard histological techniques. The authors report about definite structural changes with the various forms of hypogonadism, manifested in the elements of seminal tubules, Sertoli's cells, basal membrane of the ducts and Leydig's cells, situated in the interstitial spaces.

[Chronic recurrent pancreatitis with erosive gastritis in a patient with primary hyperparathyroidism].

A female with premary hyperparathyroidism and secondary renal lesions, as well as lesions of the stomach and pancreas is described. The initial illness was manifested by repeated renal crises. Later, gastroenterological complaints appeared--epigastralgia, vomiting, frequent hematemesis with melena. That was the cause for a gastric resection, diffuse erosive gastritis being found. After the operation, the pains and the vomiting of hematin matter repeatedly recidivated. Clinically and at the laboratory, data were formed for a chronic recidivating pancreatitis with the presence of primary hyperparathyroidism. The postoperative treatment of the parathyroid adenoma led to an improvement of the gastroenterological complaints.

[Observation of a male patient with the empty sella turcica syndrome].

One case with secondary developed syndrome of sell turcica is described, after hypophysis radiation on the occasion of acromegaly. Of special interest is the preserved tropic hypophysis secretion with a clinical picture of hypopituitarism (secondary developed hypogonadism, hypothyroidism and hypocorticism) as well as the combination with another brain neoplasm--astrocytoma.

[Morphological changes in the internal organs and endocrine glands of rats subjected to deficient nutrition and fasting].

Pathological studies on the internal organs, endocrine glands inclusive, are carried out in white rats under conditions of deficient alimentation and fasting. The results of the study show that complete starvation with preceding full value or restricted (2 hours daily) feeding brings about a variety of morphological reactions in the internal organs and endocrine glands. The liver proves to be the most sensitive to reduced food supply it shows a marked response with fatty dystrophy and subsequent atrophy. Next ranks the kidney. Myocardium, spleen, thyroid gland, adrenals and testes fall in the third group--with a weaker and rather delayed response. Small intestine, lung and hypophysis do not show changes worth noting. The investigations performed are related to the effect exerted by starvation and deficient nutrition, assumed as a stress factor for the organism.
