Phosphocreatine has been shown having significant effects on striated skeletal musculature. In fact, it was shown, by experimental researches, that phosphocreatine interfered with the state of fatigue induced in the Mus musculus and in rats, by the swimming test.
Changes in the main parameters of left ventricular function by comparison with the baselines were examined echocardiography in 11 patients after a single i.v. dose of salbutamol. The results suggest that salbutamol certainly has peripheral vascular effects leading to changes in ventricular volumes. The drug also appears to exert a positive intropic action, as shown by the changes it induced in EF and, more particularly VCF values.
We report a case of pseudothrombocytopenia anticoagulants dependence in a healthy woman. Platelet count was performed on the automated impedance haematological analyzer utilizing peripheral blood samples anticoagulated with ethylene diamine tetra-acetate, heparin and sodium citrate. We pointed out that the severe thrombocytopenia was principally time and ethylene diamine tetra-acetate dependent. As regard both the temperature (37 degrees C) and the other anticoagulants (heparin, sodium citrate), the phenomenon was variable. The phenomenon "in vitro" was confirmed by the normal aggregation, moreover we showed that the platelets of a normal subject aggregated with plasma and ethylene diamine tetra-acetate of pseudothrombocytopenic subject. We report this case because often, in a healthy subject, it is possible to make a mistake in diagnosis and to employ more sophisticated and expansive investigations. Moreover it is very important to point out the pseudothrombocytopenia in case of heparinic therapy because it is possible to have a dilated thrombocytopenia.
It is commonly known that in acetabuloplasty according to the Pemberton-Zanoli method the insertion of the graft produces an immediate increase in the height of the iliac wing which in successive months could become hypergrowth caused by the hyperactivity of the underlying Y cartilage. A total of 40 cases of insufficiency of the acetabular roof treated by this method were examined based on measurements on follow-up radiograms and an evaluation of the spino-malleolar distance until puberty. The clinical evaluation showed that in 82.5% of cases there is dysmetria that is less than or equal to 0.5 cm. An evaluation of radiograms at the end of growth of the ilium [correction of ileum] did not reveal significant variations between the hemipelvis submitted to surgery and the contralateral one either in cases treated by acetabuloplasty alone or in those in which intertrochanteric osteotomy was associated. Acetabuloplasty according to the Pemberton-Zanoli method is thus effective in the treatment of acetabular dysplasia at a young age, obtaining long-lasting effects and ones that do not cause dysmetria in the adult.

Ollier's disease is a chondromatosis of the long bones that occurs rarely but that is highly disabling because it causes severe dysmetria and deformity of the lower limbs. Surgical correction of these skeletal changes is obstructed by poor mechanical resistance of the bone tissue affected and by the amount of lengthening required to even the lower limbs. It is the purpose of this study to indicate the surgery of choice for the treatment of this disease, comparing the two most recent methods used: Wagner's technique and the Ilizarov method. The latter is more reliable in terms of mechanical hold and the possibility of correcting severe deformities, producing bone regenerate of excellent quality even in major lengthening procedures. These results were obtained by adapting the Ilizarov method to the features of the chondromatous bone, thanks to the extreme malleability of the circular external fixator.

Four cases of fracture of the triradiate cartilage (TC) are reported, all of which may be classified as epiphyseal detachments. Two of the patients were submitted to osteosynthesis of the posterior column: results were very satisfactory in one of the cases for which long-term follow-up was obtained. The other two cases, treated non-surgically, developed meta-traumatic actabular dysplasia probably due to association with crushing phenomena (Salter-Harris V) in the germinative area of TC. Despite the favorable results obtained in the case that was submitted to surgery, the authors believe that conservative treatment is best in this type of lesion, and that surgical reduction should be performed only in cases of instability and severe displacement, once surgical reduction has failed.
