Authors report an original case of mental neuropathy which reveal prolymphocytoid transformation of Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. They discuss various pathogenic hypotheses which can join these two events; these are evolutive markers of bad prognosis concerning this hemopathy. Clinical, etiopathological and prognostic features of mental neuropathy associated with hemopathies are studied through this case.
The epidemiology of animal trypanosomosis around Bobo-Dioulasso (Burkina Faso, West Africa) benefited a lot in the last years from the progress of molecular tools. The two most used molecular techniques were the polymerase chain reaction for the diagnosis of the disease in cattle and the characterization of the trypanosomes in the host and the vector on one hand, and the microsatellite DNA polymorphism in tsetse flies to study the intraspecific genetic variability of the vector on the other hand. The results obtained in the Sideradougou area during a recent two year survey with these techniques, associated with many other georeferenced informations concerning vector and cattle distribution, natural environment, landuse, ground occupation, livestock management, were combined in a Geographical Information System. This new approach of a complex pathogenic system led to a better evaluation of the risk of trypanosome transmission.

The bone fixation of diphosphonates depends on the degree of osteogenesis, the blood bone flow and the capillary permeability. The precise characteristics of the fixation kinetic are not very well known. The authors propose a new method which makes possible to study them and expose their results. For average persons the fixation curves present an ascending line, an apex, reach within 40 mn and a descending line. Any affection don't seem to have characteristic curves; on the contrary it is possible to have different curves for a same affection which implies doubtless various anatomic and metabolic data.

The authors report the results of a prospective study in a geriatric unit. 287 upper gastro intestinal endoscopies were performed on 265 patients the endoscopic examinations, oesophagitis in the population was found 40 times (15%). Most of the clinical oesophagitis presentation is non-specific, the nutritional status is quickly involved. As for adult people, relationship between oesophagitis and hiatal hernia is strong; 27 of 40 oesophagitis (67.5%) had a concomitant hiatal hernia whereas 27 of 62 hiatal hernia were associated with oesophagitis. A permissive role of medicine who decrease lower oesophageal sphincter pressure cannot be assessed. This study about oesophagitis in the elderly confirm the importance of performing endoscopic procedures, even in case of non-specific symptoms.
