[Mathematical analysis of informative criteria for the differential diagnosis of renovascular hypertension and essential hypertension].

Retrospective clinical and mathematical analysis of 168 parameters was performed in 188 patients with arterial hypertension, using standard programmed case history format designed specifically for the purpose. A number of differential criteria were identified and their diagnostic informative value was assessed for each form of arterial hypertension. The isolated criteria were grouped into anamnestic, clinical-laboratory, radioroentgenographic and roentgenoangiographic ones. Anamnestic and clinical-laboratory groups of diagnostic criteria were shown to be acceptable for health services. Their use in prehospital screening of patients is expected to contribute to the diagnosis of basic disease provoking arterial hypertension.

[Effect of captopril on the level of arterial pressure and functional state of the kidney in symptomatic (renal) stable and malignant arterial hypertension].

Captopril was used in 21 patients with various forms of stable and malignant hypertension. In symptomatic hypertension the drug had a good antihypertensive effect. When applied in patients with essential hypertension caused by chronic diffuse glomerulonephritis or chronic pyelonephritis captopril neither increased pathological changes in the urine, nor inhibited renal function.

[Clinical laboratory analysis of the course of malignant symptomatic arterial hypertension].

The work delineates the experience in diagnoses and treatment of 230 patients with the malignant arterial hypertension syndrome that made 7.37% of all hypertensive patients treated in the USSR Research Centre of Cardiology. The analysis is presented of the data on the frequency of arising of this syndrome in different forms of symptomatic arterial hypertensions as well as essential hypertension, on characteristics of its clinical course and complications.
