[Galvanization of a region of the liver in combination with use of huminate in complex recuperative treatment of patients having undergone surgery on the stomach and biliary tract].

We studied efficiency of intratissue electrophoresis of 1% huminate solution in rehabilitation of patients operated on the stomach and biliary tracts with functional deficiency of the stress-limiting system (SLS). The above electrophoresis stimulates SLS and promotes earlier start of therapeutic response.

[The role of functional state of stress-limiting systems in assessing efficacy of early rehabilitation of postmyocardial infarction patients].

Observation of over 97 postmyocardial infarction convalescents has ascertained that effectiveness of rehabilitation depends much on the function of stress-limiting systems (SLS) of the organism. The best treatment results were achieved in patients with strong SLS. Measurement of SLS indices is recommended in survivors of myocardial infarction on sanatorium treatment.

[Mud treatment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis with an immunologic deficiency].

The response to pelotherapy has been assessed clinically and immunologically basing on T-lymphocyte count. Altogether 124 rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients were examined. In patients with low baseline levels of T-lymphocytes the effect of pelotherapy appeared inferior to that in patients with normal T-lymphocyte counts. It was suggested that T-cell immunosuppressed RA patients should receive combined therapy with mud applications and anabolic stimulator potassium orotate.

[Determination of the glucoamylase activity in amylolytic preparations].

Glucoamylase capacity of amylolytic preparations was determined with respect to the initial rate (VO) of the glucose synthesis from starch when treated with the preparations tested. The concentration of free glucose (y) was assayed, using a glucooxidase reagent after 5, 10 and 20 min hydrolysis. This method takes into consideration the y -- t function which may be non-linear due to the effect of a number of factors (occurrence of alpha-amylase, enzyme inactivation, etc.). In the case of the y -- t linear function VO is measured on the basis of the angle of the y(t) curve. In the case of the y -- t nonlinear function VO is determined by extrapolation according to the described method. The paper contains examples of how to determine can calculate glucoamylase capacity for the two cases.
