This report represents the histologic, tissue culture, and ultrastructural findings in a well-differentiated liposarcoma that originated in the buccal mucosa of a 42-year-old female. A variety of cell types were identified in the recurrent tumor with light and electron microscopy; namely, rounded mesenchymal cells, signet-ring cells, multivacuolated cells and bizarre giant cells. The giant cells possessed large, multilobed nuclei with large nucleoli. Mitochondria appeared in varied numbers and Golgi zones were highly organized. Cytoplasmic inclusions were variable in the cytoplasm of the tumor cells. A morphologic variation among cells was also noted in the tissue culture media. The histogenesis of this unusual and sometimes difficult to interpret neoplasm of the oral cavity is discussed.

A case of regional odontodysplasia in a 9-year-old boy is presented. Clinical and pathologic characteristics of this developmental anomaly and its treatment are reviewed.
A case of squamous odontogenic tumor of the maxilla and mandible is presented. The symptoms, differences in behavior of the lesion in the maxilla and mandible, and treatment are discussed.

Specimens taken from the buccal mucosa of two patients with hereditary benign intraepithelial dyskeratosis (HBID) were studied by transmission electron microscopy. The ultrastructure of epithelial tissue in HBID was previously reported. Discovery of Candida albicans in this lesion was an accidental finding. The literature on the subject was reviewed and the ultrastructural features of Candida albicans were described.
Specimens taken from the buccal mucosa of two patients with hereditary benign intraepithelial dyskeratosis (HBID) were studied with the transmission electron microscope. Ultrastructural features were described and compared with those of white sponge nevus and Darier's disease. Ultrastructural findings in HBID revealed the presence of numerous vesicular bodies in immature dyskeratotic cells, densely packed tonofilaments filling the cytoplasm of mature dyskeratotic cells, and the disappearance of cellular interdigitations and desmosomes in mature dyskeratotic cells.
