Bone augmentation and biopsy: clinical report.

A mixture of demineralized freeze-dried cortical bone and beta-tricalcium phosphate covered by titanium-reinforced expanded polytetrafluoroethylene membranes was used for bone augmentation in an accident case in which a young female patient suffered anterior maxillary damage. Hydroxyapatite-coated implants were placed in the newly formed bone-like material before prosthodontic reconstruction. A biopsy suggests the bone-like material was essentially normal lamellar and woven bone.

Use of the incisive canal as a recipient site for root form implants: preliminary clinical reports.

A technique is described for utilization of the augmented incisive canal as a recipient site for a root form implant. A mixture of four parts of demineralized freeze-dried bone and one part of tricalcium phosphate is used as the augmentation material. Preliminary case reports are presented that describe the placement of an implant adjacent to an augmented canal and in the incisive canal in conjunction with implants placed in newly formed bone following a sinus lift procedure. Long-term clinical evaluation of this new procedure is necessary to justify its use.

The use of osseointegrated implants in long-span fixed partial prosthesis: a case report.

The use of osseointegrated dental implants has now become an accepted form of dental treatment. An osseointegrated implant can be used to give the prosthodontist that extra support needed to make a doubtful prognosis more predictable. In this clinical situation, the abutment teeth on either side of a four-tooth gap were not considered strong enough to support a six-unit superstructure. Two osseointegrated Core-Vent implants were successfully used to provide the necessary support.
