Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) was determined in blood serum of 110 patients with sarcoidosis and 80 healthy persons. Taking into account the advancement of pulmonary changes as well as disease activity the behaviour of this enzyme was estimated. It was found that ACE activity is significantly higher in patients with sarcoidosis than in control group. The rise of ACE activity took place in 90% of patients with active sarcoidosis and almost in 50% with inactive sarcoidosis.

A short review is presented of the results of recent studies of spinal reflex pathways from muscle spindles and tendon organs. The observations on the existence of parallel neuronal pathways from these receptors to motoneurones and the mechanisms of selection of these pathways are briefly summarized.
We tested how certain antagonists of 5-HT-3 receptors affect ethanol consumption and withdrawal seizures in ethanol-dependent Wistar male rats. Low doses of tropisetron (0.001-0.01 mg/kg ip) and ondansetron (0.00025 mg/kg ip) reduced ethanol consumption and preference. Increased ethanol intake was observed, however, after administration of higher doses of ondansetron (0.125 g/kg ip) and granisetron (0.125-0.25 mg/kg ip). Audiogenic seizures in rats withdrawn from ethanol were attenuated by low doses of tropisetron and ondansetron.
