Newly designed instruments are intended for operations on the liver and bile ducts for cholelithiasis and other abnormalities of the bile tracts. In comparison with the earlier methods they are less invasive and easier in use. Some advantages of the instruments are considered with special reference to the decrease in post-operative complications. As clinical tests have shown, the application of the instruments offers new diagnostic and surgical possibilities in the treatment of various diseases of the liver and bile ducts.

[Equipment for endolaryngeal microsurgery].

A special set of endolaryngeal instruments has been designed with aim of facilitating the early diagnosis of laryngeal neoplasms, their radical treatment, as well as rendering more effective therapeutic assistance to patients with disturbances of the vocal function. This set comprises instruments with rod-shaped holders (lancets, crescent-shaped knives, trapezoidal scraper knives, hooks, a scoop), end-pieces and laryngeal needles, hinged slider instruments (6 kinds of scoop- and frame-shaped nippers scissors and forceps) and an operating laryngoscope with the breast support and combined illumination.
