[Effectiveness of using immunomodulators in combined treatment of patients with chronic gastritis and ulcer disease].

Clinical and instrumental-laboratory investigations have been conducted in 372 patients with chronic antral gastritis (CAG, n = 131), diffuse gastritis (DG, n = 108) and ulcer disease (UD, n = 135). Immunomodulators tactivin and levamisol were added to standard treatment of 75 CAG, 63 DG and 85 UD patients. Healing of the lesions was observed, on the average, on the treatment day 24.3 +/- 0.5 and 18.4 +/- 0.6 in the standard treatment and with the added immunomodulator, respectively. Adjuvant levamisol diminished the number of recurrences of chronic gastritis and UD.

[Somatic vascular and psycho-emotional disorders in some gastrointestinal diseases and the correction with physical factors].

Vegetovascular disorders are obligatory and even leading clinical manifestations of chronic gastrointestinal diseases. Physiotherapy in combination with psychotherapy produce a normalizing effect on functional-morphological condition of the gastrointestinal organs, correct alterations in the neuropsychic sphere and autonomic nervous system.

Cerebrovascular Disorders↗

[The use of pulse-width modulation sinusoidal currents in the combined treatment of peptic ulcer].

The efficacy of pulse-duration modulation currents was evaluated in 143 patients with duodenal ulcer at the phase of reducing exacerbation. It was established that pulse-duration modulation currents in T5-T3 parameters produced a positive effect both on the clinical course of the disease and on the functional-morphological state of the gastrointestinal system. Absence of side-effects, simplicity and availability allow this method for implementation in the clinical practice of different medical institutions.

[Antibiotic sensitivity of Yersinia enterocolitica strains isolated from rodents and sick persons in Krasnodar Territory].

Seventy-three strains of Y. enterocolitica isolated from patients with acute gastrointestinal diseases and from wild and synathropic rodents in the Krasnodar region were studied for sensitivity to 12 antibiotics. The strains were shown to be sensitive or moderately sensitive to aminoglycosides. Their MIC for the predominating majority of the strains ranged from 0.4 to 6.4 micrograms/ml. Gentamicin and streptomycin proved to be the most active. Then follow kanamycin, tobramycin and sisomicin. However, some strains were resistant to kanamycin and streptomycin. The strains of the microorganism causing gastric yersiniasis had moderate sensitivity to tetracycline and moderate resistance to rifampicin, chloramphenicol and polymyxin B. All the strains were highly resistant to penicillin, which was characteristic of Y. enterocolitica.
