[The incomplete pathways of theoretical biology: the gene theory].
The first cognitive-theoretical model in genetics developed by Morgan and his disciples on the basis of physicochemical reductionism is reviewed. The pathway of the gene theory remains unfinished due to many reasons, nevertheless, Morgan left it open for further development and integration with other disciplines.
[Methodology of biological thought in works of V. N. Beklemisheva (1890-1862)].
During his work in Perm University (1918-1932) Vladimir Nikolaevich Beklemishev created theoretical and methodological foundations for the concepts of constructive morphology and structure of the living cover of the Earth. His conclusions about topical problems of general biology are still valuable for biological thinking.
[A. Weismann's germ-plasma theory: a new methodological approach to the problems of general biology].
A. Weismann's theory of germ plasm is of special importance in the history of theoretical biology. Its meaning was not confined by presenting of neoperformistic ideas on the new level of science. In fact it predicted reduction division, the continuing of germ plasm and the significance of chromosomes in heredity. For the first time it brought a new methodology to the experimental genetics and the idea of interdisciplinary synthesis.
