Suicide notes from Australia and the United States.
The rates and patterns of suicide in the United States and Australia re similar. There are, however, few empirical studies comparing these two countries; indeed, there is a paucity of cross-cultural study in suicidology in general. Suicide notes from both countries were compared, based on Leenaars' multidimensional model of suicide. No major differences were noted as is in keeping with similar studies of suicide notes around the world. It was concluded that the model may be applicable to suicides in both countries; further study is warranted.

Derivation of a proxy measure of death anxiety from the suicide opinion questionnaire.
A 10-item scale was derived from scores on Domino's Suicide Opinion Questionnaire which correlated with scores from Templer's Death Anxiety Scale and may prove useful as a proxy measure of death anxiety.

Nations with high estimated mean IQ scores had higher suicide rates and lower homicide rates after control for gross domestic product was introduced, significantly in 1970 but not in 1980.

Suicide by jumping from a bridge.
Of the 132 suicides jumping from the Delaware Memorial Bridge from 1952 to the present, the majority were male and from Delaware. There were more suicides in the summer months than in the winter months.

Correlates of motives for suicide.
Analysis of a large sample of suicide notes from 262 suicides in Australia showed separated/divorced suicides and suicides who abused alcohol were more likely to give love/romance as a precipitant for suicide while those who used gas (natural or car exhaust) were more likely to give depression and guilt as a motive.
