A standard communications protocol for computerized electrocardiography.

In an international collaborative project aimed at producing common standards for quantitative electrocardiography, a standard communications protocol (SCP-ECG) was developed for computerized electrocardiography. The protocol consisted of standards for the interchange, encoding, and storage of digital ECG data. The work was performed in three distinct, but closely related, work-packages and in close collaboration with representatives from 13 manufacturers of computerized electrocardiographs from all over the world. The objectives and results of SCP-ECG are briefly described in this paper.

[An ecg-program with multivariate diagnostic classification (author's transl)].

We report the diagnostic experience with a new Ecg-program, which was constructed for analysing the curves of the conventional 12 Ecg leads. This program was compared with our Vcg-program. Both programs used the multivariate diagnostic classification. The diagnosis infarction was correct in over 80% in both. In the moment difficulties are seen in both programs in recognition of the very early and very small infarction, also in combined damages.

[Working method of the Hannover program].

A view about the operation of the Hanover-Ecg-Program System is given. An essential, if not the most important mark of this system is the combined graphical and numerical print of the results. This print allows the physician a quick preliminary diagnosis and a control of quality. The rhythm diagnostic of the Hanover System is a remarkable progress. Also complicated arrhythms can be recognized in this manner. The rhythm diagram gives the physician a good control.
