[Emergency occlusion of the inferior vena cava in thrombo-embolic disease. Value in the critical patient].
On the basis of eight cases, the authors report the good results obtained by ligation of the I.V.C. carried out as an emergency procedure in patients under intensive care following recurrent pulmonary emboli, in whom life was threatened and in whom anti-thrombotic agents had failed or were contraindicated.
