[Subarachnoid hemorrhage in pregnancy].

Subarachnoid hemorrhage during pregnancy is a rare neurological event which, due to the time of onset and clinical findings, may be mistaken for eclampsia, a purely obstetric complication. Timely specific diagnosis will lead to consultation of the neurosurgeon who, on the basis of non-invasive techniques, determines the optimal timing for surgery to ensure a favourable prognosis for mother and child. The clinical aspects, and the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are illustrated by three clinical cases at various stages of pregnancy and on the basis of a short review of the literature.

[Cystic liver].

Diagnostic workup of progressive upper abdominal pain in patients with polycystic kidney disease may lead to the diagnosis of simultaneous polycystic liver disease. Whereas untreated advanced polycystic kidney disease leads to terminal organ failure, symptoms of polycystic liver are mainly due to local mechanical effects. Impairment of liver function is rare. Polycystic liver and kidneys are an autosomal dominant hereditary disease with variable penetrance. The etiology, clinical aspects, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are discussed and illustrated on the basis of three clinical cases and a review of the literature.

After a 10 days free period an occlusive thrombosis of the neck artery with fatal issue appeared. The clinical symptoms and diagnostic procedure are presented. Based on macroscopic, magnifying optical and histological necropsy findings these important artery injuries are discussed.
