We report a case of acute carpal tunnel syndrome from thrombosis of a persistent median artery caused by blunt trauma. The sudden onset of numbness in the median nerve distribution with pain in the fingers in a young adult may provide clues to the diagnosis.

Pressure applied over a skin graft prevents formation of hematoma and shearing of the graft. Most of the methods used to obtain adequate pressure are often cumbersome to apply and time-consuming. This report describes a quick and simple method for fixing and applying pressure over skin graft with foam dressing and staples.
A retrospective study of adult patients admitted to the burn center identified 61 male patients who claimed their injury to be secondary to spouse abuse. This may not be a true prevalence, because there may be many more unidentified cases. Few data are available concerning male spouse abuse in literature. Increased awareness is necessary to identify these patients for adequate psychosocial rehabilitation and to prevent a second injury.
In this article the psychologic problems that occur after burns to the penis are investigated. The statistical power of this study is limited because of the small number of patients in this study. There seems to be a significant difference in the physical and emotional relationships of patients who required skin grafts to the penis compared with the relationships of patients with encephalopathy after their injury.
A case of Dupuytren's contracture in a patient with previous history of burns of the upper extremity is reported. Because this patient has no predisposition to the disease, burns of the upper extremity should be considered as a trigger to the onset of the disease.
We report an unusual cause of urethral fistula in a patient with burns. Although such an occurrence is rare, the edematous perineum in patients with burn injuries should be managed carefully to prevent a tear at the penoscrotal junction.
The impact of partial-thickness facial burns on the behavior of adults was investigated. Burn injuries of the face often have a deleterious effect on the psychologic well-being of the patient.
