[The Epistle of Conceiving in the Encyclopedia of the Ihwān al-Safā'].
This study illustrates the physiology of the embryo as it is described in the Conception Letter of the Ihwān al-Safā'. The Author compares this text with Hippocratic and Galenic writings, to underline all the points in which the Ihwān detach themselves from the classical tradition. Here, as elsewhere, the originality of these Authors seems to be connected to the religious and sapiential features of their production.
