[Indirect radionuclide lymphography in the evaluation of the completeness of iliac lymphadenectomy and the diagnosis of postoperative lymphatic cysts in uterine cancer].

Indirect radionuclide lymphography was performed in 152 women in the next 1-2 weeks after operation on the iliac lymph nodes. In 136 of them a radiopharmaceutical (198Au-colloid, 113mIn-coind, 113mIn-coinol) was accumulated in the inguinofemoral lymph nodes only, being in favor of radical iliac lymphadenectomy. X-ray lymphographic control confirmed in all cases that the iliac lymph nodes had been completely removed. Lymphatic cysts were detected in 16 out of 152 patients and verified in all the cases. Thus radiolymphography is indicated in early terms after lymphadenectomy for the assessment of its efficacy and diagnosis of lymphatic cysts.

[Experience with clinical use of human leukocyte interferon in cancer of the cervix uteri].

Interferon was injected intracervically as the first stage of combination treatment in 110 cases of histologically-verified Ca in situ and invasive cervical carcinoma. Colpomicroscopic, cytologic and histologic examination was carried before and after treatment. Posttreatment histologic examination failed to detect any tumor cells in 31 patients (28.1%). Pronounced antitumor action of interferon was established.

[Clinical evaluation of the spherical transformation sign in metastatic and degenerative changes in the lymph nodes of uterine cancer patients].

The work is concerned with a clinical assessment of the spheric transformation sign in the differential diagnosis of metastatic and degenerative changes in lymph nodes of cervical cancer patients. The value of the projection index was checked in a retrospective analysis of 45 lymphograms in patients with histologically proved cancer metastases, fibrous-fat degeneration and in those without any pathological changes. The studies performed indicated a somewhat limited value of the projection index, since its precision proved to be 56.8%. In the practical work the projection index may serve but as an adjunct in assessment of lymphograms and only in combination with other roentgenological signs of the lymph node involvement.

[Retroperitoneal "lymphatic cysts" after radical operations in uterine cancer].

The authors report the results of studying the complications of iliac lymphadenectomy--lymphocysts developed after radical operations in 16 of 415 operated patients with cancer of the uterus. The method of indirect radioisotope lymphography may be considered to be the most simple method of detecting lymphatic cysts. Small size lymphocysts require no special surgical intervention. Extensive incapsulated lymph accumulation renders mandatory the incision and drainage of the lymphocyst in the iliac region at the site of the involvement. The most rational prophylactic measures against lymphocysts seem to be the provision for active lymph outflow by vacuum drainage.

[Chromolymphography in the oncological surgical clinic].

A new Soviet preparation for colour lymphography--chromolymphotrast--is presented in this paper. Radiopaque lymphography with the use of chromolymphotrast was carried out upon more than 50 patients with carcinoma of the uterine cervix and of the body of the womb. Besides, there is information concerning a successful use of the chromolymphotrast in cases of cancer of the vulva, mammary gland and rectum. Colour lymphography with the use of chromolymphotrast contributes to a more complete removal of lymphatic collectors. After a preliminary lymphography surgical interventions have acquired a radical character in 93.6% of operations on lymphatic nodes, thus adding to a decrease of the incidence rate of regional recurrences. The national medical industry has proceeded to the production of the preparation, which builds up the conditions for a broad use of colour radiopaque lymphography in oncology.

[Method of studying cardiac activity based on recording magnetocardiographic maps].

A method of diagnosing cardiac activity is proposed that is more informative as compared to conventional electrocardiography yet more complicated because of the necessity to use liquid helium. By using an objective physical model magnetocardiography is capable of providing an estimation of disorders in cardiac conduction.

[Magnetocardiograph].

This new magnetic cardiograph is designed for recording the heart activity under conditions of strong external variable magnetic fields. It comprises a gradientometric squeegee with a 10cm basis, the axes of the squeegee quantifying loops are placed in a horizontal plane, the area of each loop is 0.03 cm2.
