Normal measurements in angiography of the posterior fossa.

A quantitative study of the normal position of the vessels of the posterior fossa was made. The centroid proved to be the most accurate reference point for vessels near the midline. The presence or absence of antomical constraints is important in evaluation in significance of an unusual measurement. A combination of unusual measurements which are not intercorrelated and which make sense anatomically suggests that a mass is present.

Preoperative irradiation in renal cancer. Evaluation of radiation treatment plans.

1. Analysis of radiation treatment plans of a preoperative irradiation study of the kidney indicates that the primary cancer has been treated to levels of 4,500 rads plus or minus 10 per cent in 90 per cent of the instances. 2. The major problem, from the point of view of the radiation therapist's treatment planning, is the delivery of adequate doses to the regional nodal volume. Only 25 per cent received the prescribed dose. Special booster fields are required. 3. Surgical resection of regional lymph nodes and renal vein thrombus, if present, is recommended, since the deliverance of full radiation doses is not likely without exceeding tolerance of vital normal tissues.

[Acoustic diagnosis of accessory lung].

The diagnosis of a pulmonary sequestration is suggested by a continuous murmur over the back combined with recurrent infection of the lung. In the reported case the murmur grew in the beginning and then disappeared spontaneously.

Auscultation↗

[Kent's rhythm].

In a case of WPW syndrome type B with AV dissociation, the ectopic beats, presenting an extreme form of WPW morphology, are considered as a rhythm of Kent, attributing conductivity and automaticy to the accessory pathway.
