[The mathematical aspects of constructing a system for choosing the treatment method at a health resort in chronic nonspecific lung diseases].
The paper presents the analysis of present-day approaches to solution of the problem of spa-treatment method choice. Principal mathematical means and methodological approaches consist of; formalization of the subject field; accumulation of sufficient clinical material; classification of the patients' condition, functional changes and methods of treatment, multivariate (cluster, factor), inductive formation of concepts, models of thinking, etc.

[A mathematical assessment of the efficacy of the methods for treating patients with chronic nonspecific lung diseases at a health resort].
A total of 866 patients with chronic unspecific lung diseases were examined. Medical data collection, storage and acquisition involved making use of the operational system UNIX as well as data base control systems UBASE and INFORMIX. Relation was found out between use rate of bronchodilators, antibacterial drugs, corticosteroids, and results of treatment. The above patients can also derive benefit from such nonpharmacologic modes of treatment as apparatus-aided training of breathing, hypoxia and hypercapnia training, acupuncture-laser therapy treatments, herbal aromatic substances.
