The paper covers the main characteristics of a computer complex for diagnosis of cerebral lesions, which is based on ultrasonic one-dimensional echolocation. The application of current computers is shown to expand the potentialities of this well-known method to a greater extent. A simultaneous recording of A-echo with a pulseogram localizes the large vessels of the brain, which is a good supplementary tool for Doppler intracraniography. It is emphasized that the automatic processing of experimental findings substantially accelerates and simplifies an experimental process.
In experiments carried out in female rats it has been established that there is a connection between morphological asymmetry of uterine horns and adnexa and orientation of encephalic interhemispheric asymmetry (EIHA). Unilateral adnexectomy and ablation of one of the uterine horns resulted in modifications of EIHA, which increased during pregnancy in the remaining horn. Comparative analysis of experimental results and the data obtained during examination of pregnant women (such as interconnections of the placentation side with gestational dominant and initial orientation of the lateral phenotype) suggests an important role of asymmetry of the visceral part of female reproductive system in the formation of EIHA in onto- and phylogenesis. Possible mechanisms of self-organization of the polar functional systems are discussed under evolutionary aspect.
The paper covers the software pattern for the ultrasonic image filing and processing system. The system records images on a computer display in real time or still, processes them by local filtration techniques, makes different measurements and stores the findings in the graphic database. It is stressed that the database should be implemented as a network version.
