The Mallory-Weiss syndrome is thought to occur more frequently than it is diagnosed. For its diagnosis fibrogastroscopy should be used widely. The surgical tactics for the disease is to be changed--to be more conservative, since arrest of the bleeding is possible by non-operative methods in a considerable number of patients (31,5%).
Having analyzed an inpatient group of children and adolescents suffering from psychopathy, the authors have succeeded in specifying some clinical, social, and age-linked regularities determining the developmental pattern of these forms of psychic pathology. Of definite interest are also data on the relative proportion of various forms of psychopathies in children who are in need of hospital treatment and the results of a comparative analysis of the therapy-induced changes in psychopathy seen in various age groups of junior schoolchildren and of adolescents.

The authors outline the main regularities in the dynamics of the formation of constitutional psychopathy in childhood and adolescence on the models of epileptoid and schizoid psychopathy. Some age traits of psychopathical and psychogenic reactions and their role in the formation of constitutional psychopathy are discussed. The period of their formation is considered as psychopathic development, due to a complex interaction of constitutional anomalies of temperament, instincts and drives with the micro-socio-psychological environment.
