Four cases interpreted as intraspinal blue naevi are reported. The patients were adults females with an age range between 22 and 60 yr. In three there was a single tumour arising from the cervical posterior nerve roots and in the fourth there were multiple tumours arising from the posterior nerve roots of the spinal cord and occurring within the cerebello--pontine angle. The histological appearances of the tumours were similar in every way to those of dermal blue naevi. One was of the more common spindle-celled type and three of the cellular variant. The tumours contained melanin-pigment, and spindle cells with dendritic bipolar processes of the type described in dermal blue naevi. One was of the more common spindle-celled type and three of the cellular variant. The tumours contained melanin pigment, and spindle cells with dendritic bipolar processes of the type described in dermal blue naevi. Definite evidence of malignant tranformation was found in two cases and in a third, the appearances were suggestive for early malignant change. Therefore, unlike their dermal equivalents, intraspinal blue naevi appear to have a greater propensity for malignant transformation. In each case a careful clinical examination failed to reveal any evidence of a primary malignant melanoma. In the one case who died and on whom necropsy was performed, the failure to identify a primary cutaneous, mucosal or ocular melanoma substantiated our contention that these tumours were primary.
Hypothalamic sites in the monkey were labelled by micro-injections of 3H-NE and successive push-pull perfusions were carried out at a rate of 25 mul/min. When the monkey was fed, 3H-NE within the perifornical region increased. When 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) was added to the perfusate, 3H-NE release was also enhanced, whereas insulin perfused at the same rate caused a delated increase in catecholamine levels as reflected by increased radioactivity. Glucose supressed the release of 3H-NE, suggesting overall that the noradrenergic feeding system in the hypothalamus of the monkey is modulated by the regional level of glucose as well as the local concentration of insulin.

The pathology of two cases of canine myopathy associated with myotonia are presented. The changes were interpreted as dystrophic. The most obvious features were a rounding on cross section and variation in fibre size with numerous internal nuclei, many of which formed chains. Degeneration and regeneration were seen and there was a slight increase in perimysial and endomysial connective tissue. Only one ringed fibre was seen, but no sarcoplasmic masses. Enzyme histochemistry failed to demonstrate any selective Type I fibre atrophy. The peripheral and central nervous systems were normal in both cases.
Anti-tumour antibody was sought in the sera of three groups of patients; idiopathic vitiligo, malignant melanoma and miscellaneous skin disorders. No precipitating antibody to a series of prepared pigmented tumour antigens was demonstrated. All sera were tested for a number of auto-antibodies. No significant differences were detected between the groups. The evidence for an immunological factor in the causation of vitiligo remains circumstantial only.
Three patients who developed a psoriasiform skin eruption following oral practolol administration are described with particular attention to the cutaneous histological changes. Although the clinical picture resembled psoriasis, the histological one did not, resembling rather that seen in a drug eruption. The possibility of an early lymphoma could not be excluded on purely histological grounds.
