[Stenting for treatment of scarry stenoses of the esophagus in children].

The article contains results of examination and treatment of 160 children with scarry stenoses of the esophagus. Radical operations were made in 4 children, 4 children were treated by a direct bougieurage, 73 by bougieurage with a thread, in 79 children esophagus stenting was used. Stents of different shape and different methods of their fixation were used. The time of treatment and number of bougieurages in children when stents were used was much less than when only bougieurage was used although the same results were obtained.

[Surgical treatment of malignant tumors in the biliopancreatoduodenal zone].

Results of surgical treatment of 381 patients with cancer of biliopancreatoduodenal zone associated with obstructive jaundice were analyzed. Mean level of bilirubinemia was 182 +/- 12 mcmol/l. Cholecystoanastomosis was created in the majority of cases (51.4%). Radical surgery was carried out in 31 patients. Postoperative complications were seen in 155 (41%) patients. Renal-hepatic failure (28.1%) and purulent-septic complications (25.2%) were dominant. Lethality after radical operations was 12.9%, after palliative--15.7%. Inhibiting effect of autoplasma on phagocytosis and decrease of phagocytosis indexes 1.5-2 times are the risk factors of postoperative purulent-septic complications development. Discrete plasmapheresis reduces of postoperative purulent-septic complications rate.

[Cryosurgery in the treatment of suppurative diseases of the soft tissues in children].

The method of cryosurgical debridement in purulent diseases of the soft tissues in children is simple, effective, shortens the time for treatment by 23.4%, and has practically no contraindications. Cryosurgical debridement of the purulent focus accelerates rejection of the necrotic tissues, increases the flow of blood in the region of the wound, and stimulates the regeneration processes. The cryogenic effect reduces the resistance of the microflora to antibiotics without causing an essential influence on the content of microbes in the wound, and also has a favorable effect on the functional activity of the cells of the inflammation.
