[Oxygen-derived free radicals in acute experimental pancreatitis].

A marked decrease in the activity of superoxide dismutase together with an increase in pancreatic tissue lipid peroxidation have been found in rats with cerulein-induced acute pancreatitis (CRAP). It has been suggested, that the observed imbalance between oxygen-derived free radicals generation and inactivation may cause an injury to the pancreas. Preventive effect of hydroxyl radical scavenger in CRAP has been seen.

[Disseminated pulmonary ossification].

A case of disseminated nodular pulmonary ossification in 89-year-old male is presented. The patient was treated for broncho-pneumonia nad demonstrated chronic circulatory and respiratory failure. Pulmonary ossification was diagnosed at autopsy. The diagnostic problems, morphologic forms, pathogenesis are discussed and the relevant literature reviewed.

[Neurosarcoidosis or Guillain-Barre syndrome complicating sarcoidosis].

We described a young male with severe Guillain-Barré syndrome in whom pulmonary sarcoidosis was also detected. Based upon the results of diagnostic procedures (nerve biopsy, CSF examination, electrophysiological study) we postulate that this was a Guillain-Barré syndrome coexisting with sarcoidosis, and not the case of sarcoid neuropathy.
