The growing requirements of communication between health partners urges to standardize the language used in laboratories data management systems. Names-Lab is the only semantic reference system allowing to describe synchronously the body of prescription and result messages. Its hierarchical structure allows a simple coding, easily accessible to all biologists without imposing or even requiring a language. Other internationally proposed systems as Loinc and Euclides are similar to Names-Lab in their purposes but are completely different by their content and structure. This prompts the medical and biologic community for a comparison of these tools before setting the choice of an international referencing system.

Since renin angiotensin (RA) system discovery during 1930 decade, its physiopathological importance was only recently demonstrated with the dramatic therapeutic value of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. The tissular localisation of some of its compounds progressively lead to the concept of a tissular RA system. However non consensus can be established concerning either its existence or its physiological role. The distribution of the classical components of the RA system in the cardiac and other tissues is not homogenous enough to demonstrate the existence of such a functional and coherent system. Numerous technical problems concerning dosage methodologies are encountered especially with angiotensin II determination and must rend cautious when interpreting data. Non specific actions of ACE inhibitors can explain discrepancies between their effects and the level of RA system activation. Indeed they interfere with other systems such as prostaglandins, leucotriens, bradykinins, free radicals. Different tissues such as those of the cardiovascular system directly interfere with angiotensin II production. However, mechanisms and enzymatic reactions that are involved in such a production are multiple and their respective roles remain to be determined.
Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) in the dorsal horn of the rat spinal cord was assumed until now to be principally of primary afferent origin. It is shown here, on the basis of both light and electron microscopic immunocytochemical evidence, that some cell bodies of the dorsal horn and lateral spinal nucleus (LSn) of the rat cervical spinal cord contain a CGRP-like immunoreactivity. At the light microscopic level, immunoreactive cell bodies were observed in animals pretreated with colchicine injected intraventricularly, CGRP-like cell bodies were morphologically heterogeneous and distributed in the three superficial layers of the dorsal horn. They were very rare in lamina I and more numerous in laminae II and III. A group of immunoreactive cell bodies was also observed in the LSn. Using electron microscopic techniques, a few immunoreactive cell bodies were observed even in control animals. In addition, relatively numerous immunoreactive dendrites were observed in lamina II. The specificity of the reaction and the physiological implications of the results are discussed.
An attempt of reevaluation of the ischemic contracture of intrinsic muscles is presented, study of a mechanism identical to the Volkman Syndrome (forearm muscles), etiopathogenic treatment (excision of infarcts) in the first stage and efficient palliative methods for the Swan neck fingers and deformity of the thumb.

The recent progress were focused on: the identification of the general immunological mechanism of the hansenian neuritis, demonstrated by endoneural biopsies; the different pathology of the two categories of neuritis; the pathophysiologic derangements, inducing hypoxia or anoxia in the truncular involved segment. The adjuvant role of the canals is important; the clinical differences of the two categories of neuritis and the cases we shall treat by emergency; the importance of antireactionnal treatment and of the notation by tests for the study of the results. The goals are the hemodynamic decompression, useful in the first stage of ENL neuritis, the mechanical decompression of neural fasciculus and the urgent exeresis of necroses or evacuation of febrile abscess. Three technics a re studied: Extraneural and epineural decompression fascicular endoneural necrosis, neurolysis and complex neurolysis for evaluated ENL neuritis and for endoneural necrosis. The different indication according to the two categories: medico-surgical treatment for ENL neuritis, and according the precocity and the delay of the antireactional treatment, and also the absolute emergency of the necrosis and febrile abscess. The results of the treatment of 258 cases of recent neuritis are presented.
