[Toxoplasmosis and the epidemiological status of the population. II. The determination of the intensity of toxoplasmosis transmission].

The possibility of using the primary epidemiological unit, force of infection, as a criterion for evaluating the intensity of the transfer of toxoplasmosis among the population at the focus of infection has been established. The comparison of data obtained in different regions indicates that the level of the force of infection is, in general, low, but it can vary within a wide range. The problem of the suitability of using the force of infection as a criterion for dividing territories into zones with respect to toxoplasmosis is discussed.

[Medical devices based on the use of controllable rarefaction].

Present-day medical requirements for the suction of tissue fluids, gases, particles at surgery, intensive care, gynecological care, and therapy are formulated. The rarefaction control system via vacuum scouring is shown to differ from an automatic control system greatly. The principles and engineering principles in the design of automatic vacuum controlling aspirators are described. Technical data of a new OKhVR2-1 aspirator and a RVP-1 postoperative vacuum controller (Avionika) are given.

Equipment Design↗

[Designing and manufacturing of medical equipment by OAO MNPK "Avionika"].

The paper is dedicated to the activity of Research and Production Enterprise "Avionika", a leader in the field of designing and manufacturing of medical equipment. Technical data of medical suction units produced by the enterprise were comparatively analyzed versus those made by other manufacturers. Additionally, failures of suction equipment were analyzed and technical solutions enhancing the operational safety are suggested. Promising trends are defined for perfecting the discussed equipment type.
